Like the Grand Hyatt Seoul, Westin Chosun is a grand dame hotel in Seoul compared to Sheraton D Cube or Conrad Seoul which represents a new era of contemporary style hotels in Seoul. The old style hotel still retains its exclusive, classy charm and unsurprisingly it comes with a hefty price tag.
Take a dessert here at the hotel’s Vecchia E Nuovo for example. It cost me 18000 KRW for an Apple Cinnamon Cake and a cup of “Superior Earl Grey Tea”. That is about 20 SGD, which is way overpriced even in Singapore. Thankfully the tea, a Korean Darjeelian brand tea, did tasted great, fragrant with the citrusy notes of bergamot and easy to drink.
The cake was nice too, not too sweet and it was also moist with a nice balance of apple and cinnamon flavours. The cake went quite well with the Earl Grey tea as well. Still, it isn’t cheap but since it was my last night in Seoul.
