Toa Payoh | Fried Bitter Gourd Fish Head

Most of the stalls were closed when we went for dinner at Toa Payoh Lorong 4 Blk 93 one day. We have seen this stall around for a while but have avoided it as we ain't fans of bitter gourd.

We were wrong not to try it earlier.

The dishes we had included the Luohan Zhai, the Three Colour Egg Spinach and the signature Bitter Gourd Fried Fish

The food here may not have the best looking aesthetics but it was generally pretty good! The bitter gourd slices were unexpectedly different from what we had, it was tasty and even has a tinge of sweetness with the distinctive bitter gourd taste which makes it delectable and interesting.

The portions were generous in general, the Bitter Gourd Fried Fish was plump an succulent with a hearty black pepper sauce and mixed with savoury bitter gourd slices.

To sum it up, it was a hearty meal that focus on taste over aesthetics. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
