WHAT THE CREPE?!

3rd September 2011. Written by Vinleon.
The few of us were going to meet some fellow bloggers for brunch at Group Therapy… ONLY THAT IT’S THE NEXT DAY!

The scatterbrained me (trust me, it only happens cos my schedule is so &@$^% full) thought it was today, and by the time I realized, I’m already in the train. But it’s okay, since I’ll be meeting some other people later at Vivo, so I decided to go on to Tanjong Pagar to look for some food.

I wanted to revisit The Plain (cos the other time I visited with Xinli and Yew Ann was just to have coffee) but it was soooooooooooo crowded! The I thought I should visit ReStore again. But on the way, I chanced upon something new to me…

Keen on Crepes is yet another establishment in the Duxton area. They are keen on promoting healthy eating too.

I had the super minced beef crepe (with spicy hummus) and a glass of latte.

Nothing really special about the coffee, but if I had to nitpick, it was slightly too acidic for my liking. Good try on the coffee art too. Coffee's definitely not their forte here.

The first bite into the crepe and it felt like I was eating a taco! It was delightfully crispy and thin, with a very very light hint of spice. The fillings include the minced beef, spicy hummus, a good blend of vegetables and I suspect some bits of feta cheese was added. Most importantly, the fillings were flavorful without being too heavy on the palate. And the more you eat into the crepe, the softer it gets (without being soggy!). Did I mention I almost couldn’t finish the crepe? IT. WAS. HUGE.

Bottomline: this has got to be the best savory crepe I’ve ever eaten, so please go grab one if you haven’t, before it gets overcrowded!
