Here is one place where you get to eat your fish immediately after ordering it. Located at Parkway Parade Shopping Mall, Fish Mart Sakuraya is a Japanese grocery stall with a small dining corner. It sells stuff like tuna, salmon, matcha, shoyu, sake, mirin etc. All you would need in a Japanese kitchen.
We ordered a Sashimi-grade Salmon Filet for about 9 SGD (the fish were priced by weight, no GST or service charge for dining in). The salmon sashimi was quite tender without any sinewy texture and it was fresh.
