Barcook Bakery never fails to have a queue whenever I am at Raffles Place. Today, we found out why, it was these warm, fluffy addictive Raisin Cream Cheese Buns.
These Raisin Cream Cheese buns, going for 1.30 SGD each looked may looked ordinary but they are the reason why people actually queue up and leave the bakery with 3 to 5 or even 10 pieces of them.
First of all, the buns are very light.
When it is fresh out of the oven, they are fluffy.
The warm cream cheese that ooze out of these warm fluffy buns is very addictive, a perfect comfort food to have during these rainy days or during work.
The addition of raisins offsets the sourness of the cheese with their sweetness.
The warm creamy cheese flowing out and soft raisins burst with sweetness as you take a bite into these light, fluffy buns is such a delightful experience. It was so good that we decided to turn back and buy one for each of ourselves after leaving to buy two to share among ourselves.
Yew Ann commented that for this particular bun, one must have a Raisin Cream Cheese bun for himself (if not more). In fact, if not for the food trail, we wouldn’t mind having more of these.
This is a delicious discovery indeed!
Apparently, the Raisin Cream Cheese buns are the only bread they were selling when we were there and it was cleared swiftly by other hungry people, young and old.
