Dinner @ Tsujiki Gindaco

Tsujiki Gindaco - Action

21st May 2010. Written by Xin Li with Vinleon.

Tsujiki Gindaco stood out at the Food Basement as it has a long queue at its Takoyaki side. The crowds and long queue at Tsujiki Gindaco proved to be a striking contrast to the quiet and empty Kikkoman stall next to it.

Tsujiki Gindaco - Osaka Yakisoba

Vinleon and I decided to eat here instead of Food Opera (because we could have better hawker food at cheaper prices!) The tiny kiosk has a few seats at the rear, the staff seemed to be occupied with the crowd outside hence you would have to clear the dirty trays by yourself, its pretty much self service.

Tsujiki Gindaco - Osaka Yakisoba

We had the Osaka Yakisoba for $5.50. Brown pan-fried noodles with slices of pork and chopped vegetables topped with egg, Japanese Mayonnaise and bonito flakes. While the dish was on the drier side, both Vinleon and I enjoyed the dish because it was very savoury. The noodles together with the mayonnaise was slightly sweet with a hints of sourness and saltiness from the mayonnaise and bonito flakes respectively.

The serving is just nice, would be enough for one person.

  1. gotta agree that dining at food opera is no cheap affair. have you tried gindako's takoyaki? i heard that it's good but i've yet to brave the queue.

  2. to stargirl yep: i am quite intrigued by the way food operas serve drinks and dim sum though, seldom see those trolleys in a food court.

Vin and I wanted to try the takoyaki but the queue was really long during that time and we had to head for an event shortly after the meal.
