Lounge | BKK | Cathay Pacific Lounge

Bangkok Airport on a morning. There is sense of rush everywhere.

Right after immigration, I went to the Cathay Pacific Lounge to kill time before the flight.
Unexpectedly, the wait became longer as the flight got delayed.

That gives me more time to spend in this lounge. I always wanted to visit Cathay Pacific's refurbished lounges. This lounge in Bangkok airport was refurbished in 2015 to adopt a consistent design template as the one in Tokyo Haneda, Hong Kong and Manila. It is designed by Studioilse, led by Ilse Crawford, based in London.

From the lounge you have both views of the concourse and the tarmac outside.

One of the highlights of Cathay Pacific's lounges is their food.

Notably, their "Noodle Bar" which serves hot meals for passengers, their specialty being noodle dishes like Dan Dan Noodles and depending where you are flying : Phad Thai in Bangkok and Beef Noodles in Taipei.

Of course, there would be Hong Kong classics: dim sum and Wanton Noodles in Soup.

For Bangkok Airport, they also serve Phad Thai, which is quite decent but on the sweeter side.

There are also fruits and salads at the buffet counter.

The lounge does not come with shower facilities which would be a disappointment to passengers looking forward to freshen up especially if they are in Bangkok for a long transit. Besides, Business Class and First Class passengers flying Cathay Pacific or One World airlines, if you are a One World Sapphire or Emerald member or Marco Polo Diamond, Gold or Silver member you can enter the lounge as well.

You can find out more about the lounge here
