I tried out the new fast food menu at Food for Thought @ 8Q
with Mu Yao yesterday. The former FFT is now renamed Fast Food for Thought. The
first item on the new menu reminded me of the People’s Pig Pulled Pork Sandwich
featured at the World Street Food Congress Jamboree this year: a Slow-Roasted Pulled
Pork Burger.
I went classic, and ordered the Beef Patty Cheese Melt with
caramelized onions, charred scallion sesame sauce. For a burger it was kind of
large and definitely not a handheld-friendly one. I ate with a knife and fork
instead, the beef patty (ordered medium) was inconsistent with certain parts being
dry and sinewy. Flavourwise, it was a decent burger and the bun was good. Fries
are alright too.
Mu Yao went with the Slow-Roasted Rosemary Lamb with roasted
beetroot suces, garlicky hummus and mint yoghurt sauce. You could tell from the
name it was a cacophony of flavours with the mint overpowering everything and
it didn’t help when the lamb was really dry.
Both of us left Fast Food for Thought rather disappointed.
In my opinion I would prefer the old Food for Thought when the atmosphere was
more cheerful, friendly and enjoyable food. I remember those days I would drop
by Food for Thought for a jolly Berry Crumble topped with a scoop of vanilla
ice cream for a perk-me-up with my friends. The question remains: what
happened?
All burgers go for 8.50 SGD for a la carte (and come with some fries) and sets cost 12
SGD with a choice of soft drink and more fries (no choice of mayo, only
applicable for side orders – 5 SGD)
Wow!!!! French fried I really loved its actually I love all the kinds of the fast food and when ever I want to eat any kind of foods like Indian or all other fast food then I am always taking the help of the takeaways that is the online food ordering site.More Info
