Remember the Bhuthorn one of the finest Bed and Breakfasts? Now the owners Direk and Chitlada Senghluang has set up a sister Bed & Breakfast known as Asadang, an equally charming old-world style guesthouse located next to Khlong Ratchabophit and just a short walk away from Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. For more about Asadang you could read it here.
Like the Bhuthorn, your preferences for breakfast were taken down during check-in by attentive and courteous receptionists before being ushered to your rooms.
Breakfast at the Asadang was served in a gorgeous dining hall with views of the canal and the street. Firstly we had the classics such as croissants and wholemeal bread served with butter and strawberry preserve.
This was followed by the essential egg, ham and sausage.
Lastly for that local touch, we were being served watermelon and a plate of local sweets, a chee-kueh like-coconut puff. Rich in coconut flavour and rather sweet, this was yummy.
How can there not be drinks for breakfast, you can opt for orange juice or...
Some tea served in beautiful china
Or a cup of cappuccino.
To sum up, this was one of the best breakfasts I had in a long while. The setting was great, it was cosy and relaxing and the food was delicious. For more images on the Asadang you may visit our travel blog, Pok Pok and Away.
