"Is it Ice Cream Tempura?" I thought, when I saw "Fried Ice Cream - 75 THB" on the menu on Be Shady Restaurant, the in-house restaurant of the Sino-House Apartment and Hotel.
No. It is different and apparently its popular in Phuket. This Thai rendition has a breaded texture for the batter, think Old Chang Kee....with ice cream enclosed in it. The one we had in Be Shady wasn't good though, it was too soggy leaving a mess to clear. The decent ones supposed to be crispy with a clear contrast of the hot and cold flavors. Oh well, there goes my 75 THB.
