Since our school involves a lot of printing, Sunshine Plaza is our third most visited place for work after Trade Hub. Hence, one day, we decided to have some dim sum at Victor’s Kitchen.
Price wise, we found it rather reasonable and the service was decent, the lady running the dim sum shop was quite efficient and friendly.

To start off we had the Milk Tea (2.50 SGD) which looked more interesting than it tasted.
To the food, the Rosey Wine Yummy Char Siew Pau (3.50 SGD/2 pcs) tasted different. The meat filling was quite tender but the sauce tasted different. I am not the fan of this unfamiliar flavor.
The Victor’s King Prawn Dumplings (4.00 SGD/4 pcs) was quite good, the prawn was succulent and satisfied my har gaw cravings. My only complaint would be the skin is slightly thick.
The star of the day goes to the Golden Egg Yolk Lava Bun (3.50 SGD/3pcs) which is a decadent dim sum. Golden, buttery custard flows out the moment the pastry’s exterior was pierced. It was quite sweet and savory. It is nice to have just one or two but nothing more (for health reasons) as it might get a little heavy on the palate.
We also had Char Siew Cheong Fun (3.50 SGD/ 3pcs) and King Prawn with Vegetables Cheong Fun (4.00 SGD/ 3pcs), the char siew version lacks substance but the King Prawn version is delicious. I felt that the cliché phrase, “hits and misses” pretty much sums up our experience at Victor’s Kitchen. For more opinions, you can refer to Memoirs of Food and Foodoshoot.
