Breakfast @ Cedele

Cedele (Wheelock)

I woke up early today to join Michael and Vinleon for breakfast at Cedele (Wheelock) to have breakfast. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera batteries! Luckily there was my hand phone camera and sketchbook.

It was early in the morning, the place was quite quiet and the seats near to the windows will be a nice place for people watching. For people who loves to have breakfast all day long, Cedele has an All-Day Breakfast menu.

Cedele (Wheelock) - Rosti

I had he Rosti (14.90++ SGD) and I had scrambled eggs and sausages to go with it. You have choice of having your eggs fried (sunny side up or overeasy or scrambled), there is also a tiny cherry tomato, green salad and two rather thick sausages to go with it.

Cedele (Wheelock) - Rosti

Overall, I only like the scrambled egg which was creamy and buttery. The rest were quite disappointing. The rosti seemed over fried, carrying an unpleasant oily, fried flavor. The greens in the salad were limp instead of crunchy. The sausages were just so so.

Cedele (Wheelock) - Big Breakfast

Vinleon and Michael had the Big Breakfast which was about 18.40++ SGD each. You have the choice of eggs (poached, scrambled or fried), green salad, rustic bread/ brioche, sausages, bacon rashers and sautéed mushrooms plus a cup of tea or coffee.

Cedele (Wheelock)

While definitely filling, only the scrambled eggs and bread were decent. It shared the same problems as the Rosti and the bacon rashers were salty, the mushrooms weren’t fragrant and the poached eggs were over cooked.

To sum up, I think Cedele at Wheelock is not a great place to have breakfast if you are looking for something really nice and worth your money (save for the scrambled eggs). The ambience is nice and the service is okay. Personally, I think eM by the River serves a better breakfast (but service is worse there) and both Kith Cafe and Spruce are better.
