One of the dishes I miss after spending 4 months in Korea is duck confit and after the closure of Black Sheep Café in September, there is no chance of getting to eat that heavenly duck confit without bursting the wallet. Chef Ratha now heads the Masons, a restaurant at the former Gillman Barracks and the Duck Confit now cost a whopping 34++ SGD as compared to the 22.50 nett.
Fortunately, you can still find rather decent Duck Confit : Duck leg confit, homemade mashed potato, sauté shiitake mushroom, orange segments, & orange infused natural jus at Saveur, an affordable French eatery located at Purvis Street, just near the grand dame Raffles Hotel and the contemporary National Library. The Duck Confit here is very tender and the meat was juicy and with a price of 10.90++ SGD. It is pretty good.
I also ordered a side of Potato au Gratin (3.00++ SGD) which was very fragrant, cooked to the right texture and very appetizing.

No $3.90 Sakura Prawn Pasta to go with that Duck Confit? haha. $10.90 is a real steal!
ReplyDeleteto Daniel: haha I tried their Sakura Prawn Pasta before it was good too! But I really miss Duck Confit when in Korea.
