Grand Park City Hall : A Hidden Gem

Grand Park City Hall - Exterior

12th January 2012.
Situated in the heart of the Civic District, Grand Park City Hall Hotel is a convenient but quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle along North Bridge Road.

Grand Park City Hall - Entrance

Upon entry, you will find a bright, naturally lit atrium. A water feature at the far end of the atrium surrounded by lush greenery graces this peaceful atrium, decorated with contemporary works of art.

The hotel itself has a hidden treasure: a row of Transitional Style Shophouses along former St.Gregory’s Place. Unlike those “shophouses” in Bugis Junction which are recreations, these well-concealed heritage gems are actual shophouses that had been conserved and now houses the restaurants of Grand Park City Hall such as Park Palace and Indulge@Park. The work was carried out under RSP Architects and it was even awarded the prestigious Architectural Heritage Award in 1998 by URA. The hotel is very popular with business travelers and I could easily understand why, the environment here is relatively quiet (making it an excellent place to work) and its location is top-notch, as it is only a short walk away from City Hall Station, an interchange between the East-West and North-South lines, besides Bras Basah Station along the Circle Line is only a short walk away too.

For relaxation, one could head up to the swimming pool equipped with spa jets or chill out in its spacious Jacuzzi. There is a gym run by private gym professionals that is free for the guests.

For a premium, you could also enjoy Crystal Club benefits such as a complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments, afternoon tea and evening hors d’oeuvres at their Crystal Club Lounge, a well-equipped and quiet lounge located on the 10th floor. For more benefits about Crystal Club, look up here.

The hotel enjoys a decent rating on Trip Advisor with impeccable service being cited frequently in reviews. As the Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day are just round the corner, the Grand Park City Hall is offering a 2+1 promotion for the Superior and Deluxe Rooms.
