Vin and I happened to be around Dakota Station so we decided to head to the famed Old Airport Road Food Centre to grab some bites. It is here we spotted Wang Wang Crispy Curry Puff, a 9-year old store ran by Ah Wong at #01-126.
We had their original curry puff and we really enjoyed the crispy crust. The filling is quite fluid with chunks of potato in it. Overall we enjoyed this crispy snack. The curry puffs also include yam paste, sardine and black pepper variations and cost from 1.00 – 1.20 SGD.

Besides curry puffs, Ah Wong also sells beancurds at other stalls in the food centre. Hence, we decided to try out their beancurd at 51 Soya Bean, ran by Ah Wong and Phua Gek Sia. The bean curd is strikingly different from the ones we usually had. Instead of beancurd in sweet syrup, the beancurd resembles a pudding.
Apparently, they used three kinds of sugar and has a layered sequence of flavors from the 3 different kinds of sugar as we savour the beancurd. The beancurd has a malt-like flavor that resembles Horlicks and isn’t too sweet. According to the owner, the beancurd are made on site every day. The store had a steady stream of customers while we were consuming the beancurd. Other flavours include durian and almond. A bowl of bean curd cost 1.00 SGD (S), 1.50 SGD (L).
