Introduced by ieatishootipost quite some time ago, Teochew Muay needs no further introduction by now. In short, it is a great place for a Teochew porridge buffet at affordable prices. For those looking for a huge variety of side dishes or international cuisine, Teochew Muay is definitely not the kind of buffet place you are looking for.
What you get here is Teochew style porridge with some decent if not quality food to go with it. The tofu with port floss was quite nice, the braised duck was delicious and the entire fare feels home-cooked.
Here are the photos of the restaurant and the food it offers. It is more of a pictorial than a post. According to my parents, they used to hang out around here during their stint as musicians at the now demolished National Theatre and the coffeeshop opposite Teochew Muay used to serve teochew porridge too.
The Teochew Porridge Buffet includes their items on displayed such as preserved vegetables, omelette, braised duck, minced meat etc as well as dessert of the day.
It cost
9.90 SGD during lunch and 13.80 SGD for dinner (nett prices!!). The service was very good too.
