Located along Sultan’s Gate in Kampong Glam is Seow Choon
Hua Restaurant which dates back to 1983. The eatery is known for its Fuzhou
style meatballs and Red Wine Chicken Mee Sua.
My friend and I went for their fishballs which were handmade
and used four types of fishes: red fish, yellow eel, grouper and ikan parang.
The fish balls were unevenly shaped and have a bit of minced meat in them. The
texture is distinctly different from the usual fish balls and the soup was
light and delicate. I look forward to coming back here again.
You could purchase their fish balls to bring home for a
steamboat party or make soups.
