Strasbourg, France
One of my best meals in my May Europe trip was a
recommendation by Paul Travel Pics. It is small, quaint little restaurant
located at the Place du Marché Gayot in Strasbourg also known as PMG. The
restaurant is named La Table du Gayot and headed by Chef David Wagner.
Upon seeing the menu, I was dead set on their Magret de
Canard aux Fruits de Saison (18.50 EUR) which is a fillet of duck breast with
seasonal fruits. As per usual in a French restaurant, I was offered some
complimentary bread to munch on before my order arrived.
There it was, some of the most tender, juicy duck breast paired
with a creamy potato gratin, sauerkraut, carrots on a sweet tangy sauce. To me,
this was really good. Not only the duck breast itself was good, but I enjoyed
the combination of savoury, sweet and slight spicy flavours when eaten together
with the condiments and sides.
