8th July 2013.
Hokkaido, Japan.
The Hokkaido Passion tour also includes “cherry picking” in the
month of July. I am not a fan of cherries at all. Or rather, I thought I didn’t
like cherries until I get to taste the Hokkaido cherries straight from its
orchards.
These cherries are of a different variant from the ones we
normally see in Singapore which were horribly sour. The Japanese cherries,
known as sakuranbo, which we get to pluck and taste for ourselves at the
orchard have a paler shade of red and tints of yellow. It taste like really
good and juicy grapes. Pity I didn’t get
to buy one of their jams home.
