Staying next to Bukit Brown for the past few years, I have seen how the cemetery turned from a quiet, isolated cemetery transformed into one of the top tourist attractions in Singapore. It is being featured on Lonely Planet! According to Mr Raymond Goh, it has even surpassed Gardens by the Bay. It happens that one of my works depicting Bukit Brown in a vintage-style travel poster was being chosen for a Bukit Brown exhibition held that the Chui Huay Lim Club located along Keng Lee Road (named after Ching Keng Lee in 1928 Lee, a rice merchant and ship owner.)
My contact for the exhibition was a person named Yik Han but unfortunately, I couldn’t find him on that day itself haha. It reminded me of finding Wally, so I made this comic about my experience at the opening of the exhibition. Do head down to the Chui Huay Lim Club to find out more about Bukit Brown.
