Mango Sticky Rice is not something I would expect from a hawker centre or food court. Then came one day when my colleague and I were chilling out at Bukit Timah Food Centre, I saw “Mango Rice – 2.50” at Eng Kee Hot & Cold Desserts. It was a deal the moment he confirmed that it is the Thai dessert.

The Mango Rice (2.50 SGD) is a cheap but indulgent dessert, sweet slices of mango paired with glutinous rice and covered with rich coconut sauce. I can’t get enough of it.

My only complaint? The mango was too ripe.

Bukit Timah Food Centre - Sugarcane Juice


For a hot afternoon, consider getting a big cup of sugarcane juice too, I got mine from the store opposite Eng Kee Hot & Cold Dessert!

    I love the steamed tapioca with coconut & gula mekala sauce here! Will try this mango sticky rice dessert next time.

    haha this food centre brings back childhood memories for me, I used to study at Pei Hwa Presbyterian Pri Sch next to the food centre.
