My friend recommended this eatery at Wisma Atria for dinner one day. It is part of the Japan Food Town opened not too long ago which gathered a few restaurants from Japan next to the Food Republic food court.
Rang Mang Shokudo hails from Tokyo and specializes in Chicken Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken). Besides oden, it is my next favourite comfort food in Japan during the colder seasons. The chicken karaage at Rang Shokudo was excellent, juicy, tender flesh with a crispy outer skin, so cliche but not everywhere could do their fried chicken right. The potato salad is a bonus too, creamy with a touch of curry, it makes for a yummy snack to enjoy with the chicken karaage.
Also, you have a wide variety of dips to enjoy with the chicken karaage. We picked the Cod Roe Mayo and the Green Onion Salt Chili Oil, a savoury and slightly spicy dip that makes you want to have more.
We spent about $12 - $14 for a meal. They also have a $10.90 Value Set with salad, chicken karaage and rice.
