Looking for art for interior décor or simply interested in art? Why not head down to the Affordable Art Fair at the F1 Pitstop this weekend? The Affordable Art Fair begun in 1999 by Will Ramsay who wishes to make art accessible to everyone when Sotheby’s, Christie’s or that piece of real Picasso or Pollock are simply too expensive for our shallow wallets.
So art need not be expensive! The Affordable Art Fair featuring more than 50 exhibitors around the world from Singapore, to Spain provides a myriad of artworks for you to purchase and finish that missing bit in your room.
Artworks ranged from the loud and colourful Pop!
‘Food’ Art?
The abstract.
Sculpture.
The realist, these ‘photos’ were actually painted on ceramics.
Collage?
The whimsical.
Typographic works.
The intricate, this work exhibited by Yod Gallery, entitled “Kyoto” by Hiroshi Shinno is actually made of acrylic with synthetic resin.
Works with a sense of humour from Bleach Box
Or go for something subtle or elegant from Lakeer Gallery?
Or simply start an interesting conversation about art and interior décor with the many exhibitors there.
I am particularly interested in these photographs by Keith Macgregor featuring Singapore in 1978. You could find these works at Picture This Gallery.
There is even a Children’s corner for kids to have a go at art. Catering is provided by Prive Catering, a bowl of Roasted Tomato Soup cost about 3.50 SGD there.
The Affordable Art Fair Singapore cost 8 SGD for a single entry on SISTIC (10 SGD if purchased on the spot). Group of 4 package cost 25 SGD on SISTIC (Door Price: 30 SGD).
The art fair runs from:
18th November, Friday : 11 am to 6 pm, there is an Arty-Licious evening from 6 pm onwards featuring music and art performances. (SISTIC: 25 SGD for 1, 40 SGD for 2 | Door Price 30 SGD)
19th November, Saturday : 11 am to 8 pm
20th November, Sunday : 11 am to 6 pm
The art fair is held at the F1 Pitstop next to the Singapore Flyer.
